Even in the relative safety of your home, your guitar could get damaged. Changes in humidity of the room your guitar is in could do damage to the wood. In the worst cases it can lead to a warped neck or cracked body. If you keep or play your guitar in a garage or attic when its probable that the air will be damp, everyone knows what damp does. If you leave any repairs for too long then you will end up with rust on any metal parts such as strings and tone knobs, costing you fair amount to repair. Keeping your guitar in a case may not solve this problem entirely but it will go a long way to reducing it.

When you take your guitar out to practice or to a gig, you really have to make sure your guitar is protected. Heading to a practice with your guitar over your shoulder is not the best idea. There could be a time when you are walking along the street and dont notice someone or something in front of you and you walk into it, you could do some damage to your guitar. You may damage the paint finish or break parts off it. We definitely don’t want that.

Even when you’re at home there is a risk of damage. If you happen to leave the guitar propped against a chair or your bed, there is a chance that is can fall over and either damage the guitar or whatever it happens to fall onto.

A guitar case, as you can see, has many uses. If you do care about your guitar then you should be investing in good hard guitar cases before you head out anywhere.
